C. Richard Langley was born in Albany, Georgia in 1948. He attended Emory University and then the University of Georgia School of Law, obtaining his J.D. in 1973. Over the years, Mr. Langley received training and experience in litigation and concentrated his practice in the areas of insurance and corporate defense with an emphasis on the healthcare industry. Mr. Langley currently spends the majority of his time in healthcare related matters. Mr. Langley is a member of the Dougherty Circuit and American Bar Associations, the State Bar of Georgia, the American Health Lawyers Association, and the Georgia Academy of Hospital Attorneys.

Active in bar association activities, Mr. Langley served as President of the Dougherty Circuit Bar in 1987-1988 and is a charter Board Member and Officer of the Health Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia. Mr. Langley served as Secretary and Board Member of the Health Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia, 1992-1993, Vice-Chairman, 1993-1994, and as Chairman of that Section in 1994-1995. He served as a member of the State Bar’s Disciplinary Investigative Panel from 1996 to 1998, and from 1998 to 1999 served as its Chairperson. Mr. Langley served on the Formal Advisory Opinion Board of the State Bar from 2000 to 2001. He is a frequent speaker to general audiences and special interest or professional organizations regarding the healthcare industry and laws involving healthcare issues, choices and decisions.
